Alison B (formerly We Used to be Sweaters) is inspired by nature, COLOR and the healing power of artmaking. Her materials change with the seasons, but her artworks always involve upcycling and an effort to be mindful of the environment. In the colder months, Alison felts cashmere and wool sweaters and transforms them into accessories for humans, cats, and homes. In the warmer months, she uses the ice tie dye technique to create colorful clothing and home goods. In between seasons, she upcycles bluejeans into moon pillows, for dreaming—and more! In addition to making art, Alison B teaches and tells stories, sometimes accompanied by her handmade puppets. Weekly you can find her at Sharpsburg Community Library offering youth programming!
